Writing Expectations

           Restate the question to begin your answer.

                 Example:

                  Explain what Steinbeck means when he says he “had not felt the country for twenty-                  five years.”

                 When Steinbeck says he “had not felt the country for twenty-five years,” he means to
                 say that…

   Do NOT begin your answer with a pronoun.

        Use complete sentences.

   Use correct capitalization and end punctuation.

       Make sure your handwriting is legible.
