Mr. Evan Class Rules
Class Objective:
The objective of 6th grade science is to prepare you, the student for life and for future science classes.  You will learn a thought process that you can use to answer science questions and to solve every day problems.

Class Rules:
Students are expected to behave in a way that is good for learning.  This means that all students will:

 ·        Follow school rules

·        Listen when the teacher is talking

·        Raise hand when you need to speak out loud

·        Give their best effort

·        Follow quiz procedures

·        Make up work that is missed when absent 

Class Discipline Procedure:
If a student does not follow the class rules this is what will happen to them:

 1.      A verbal warning will be given

2.      The student and teacher will have a conference3.      Parents will receive a phone call from the teacher

4.      Student will be sent to the office

Class work:
Most assignments will be completed during class.   Assignments that are not finished will be taken home.  At home the student should be reviewing vocabulary and notes for the weekly quiz.  Assignments are considered late if they are not turned in on the day that they are to be collected.  Late assignments will be accepted only one day after the due date at 60% of the full value. 

 

Quizzes: 
A Quiz will be given once a week.  If the score is less than 55%, correction can be made and the grade will be raised to a 60%.  If the score is 56% or higher the students can make corrections and the grade will be raised 5%.
 

Grading Scale:

A             100-93                     B-            82-80                       D+           69-67

A-           92-90                       C+           79-77                       D             66-63

B+           89-87                       C             76-73                       D-            62-60

B             86-83                       C-            72-70                       E              59-0

Dear Parents:

 Your child will be using a planner this year.  They will be bringing this planner home once a week for you to sign.  It is my goal to give you a computer print out on Wednesdays that will be in the planner.  I do miss a week every once in a while.  

 If you have any question, please call me at 639-4201.  I am available during the last hour of the school day.
