AAA Math
Triple A Math has a lot of really simple interactive challenges and practice games for everything from equivalent fractions to adding and rounding decimals. The practical math section is also nice as it has links to practical ways to use math, consumer math, measurement, and math in daily life.

A+ Math
A fun math web site, play games, use flash cards or try the math word search. Practice with interactive flash cards and basic number facts.

Animals @ Sea World
A great site by Sea World where you can find everything animals. Here you will find everything from zoo links to an animal sounds library. Take the time to explore ecosystems and the animals that live in each.

Animal Planet
Part of the Discovery Channel family there are games to play, as well as information about some great shows on Animal Planet TV (Crocodile Hunter to name one).

Ask an Expert!
This is a great website for all those questions you just can't find answers for. Real people provide answers to your tough questions about animals, science, the internet, and more. You must have an e-mail account in order to get a reply, but many teachers should be willing to lend a hand.

City Creator
Want to create your own town? This website lets you become a city planner, placing buildings, roads, people, and services. Share your city with other planners or print them out to take with you.

Cool Math 4 Kids
Another great math site. Inside you will find math games, fractals, calculation tools, fraction, brain benders and more. There's even a link for younger learners from 2 to 5 years of age.

Education Place
Wacky Web Tales (the modern version of Mad Libs), spelling games, geography quizzes, and more can be found here under the EduGames link. Brought to you by Houghton Mifflin, this site is a great resource for activities, thinking maps, and more.


Fun for younger children, this site has many games that reinforce fine motor and basic computer skills. Matching games and "paper dolls" can be found here as well.

Fun Brain
Just like the name of the site, this is fun for the brain. There are lots of mind challenging math and word games here.

Kid's Domain
A fantastic site with an excellent Brain Builders link. There are plenty of activities, resources for parents, and even lessons available for use or download.

Kid Pix
For those of you who can't get enough of Kid Pix at school, you can play and paint online at home.

Learning Planet
The DK and Kindergartens love this site. There are some great letter, number, and matching games here. There is also Spacey Math for the older kids, which many have found to be lots of fun! (Shockwave required)

Nasa for Kids
Ever wondered what the Earth looks like at night from space? Get pictures here as well as watch astronauts training, explore the forces that make planes fly, even make your own model spaceship.

PBS Kids
Has some great games, activities and links including: Clifford the Big Red Dog, Arthur, Between the Lions and Zoboomafoo.

Technology Time Line
Brought to you by the nice folks at PBS, this site contains an interactive Timeline of Technology. Find out when the submarine was invented and who invented it. From 1750 to 1990, this timeline has the major technological breakthroughs for the past two and a half centuries.

Computer History Timeline
A complete timeline of the computer. The Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California has created timeline entries for every year since 1945 about computers, computer components, software, and most technologies related to the computer field.

Typing Pal Online
You can use this web site to continue practicing your keyboarding skills through the summer. With your parents permission, sign up for the free version.

U.S. States with Ben
Ben Franklin's guide to the U.S. Government is a site created by the Government Printing Office. It has many resources for parents, students, and teachers about how our government works, including game and activities.

U.S. States on Kids Konnect
A listing of every state's general information. The population, state tree, and capital city are examples of what can be found here. Information about the United States as a country is here as well.

Up to Ten
This site has games that include: find the differences, online and printable coloring pages, and puzzles just to name a few. Coordination games and animated greeting cards can also be found here.

Weather Whiz Kids
An "educational web site for teachers and parents that gives them the right tools they need to explain the different types of weather to children." You can ask a real meteorologist any weather question you like. See if you can stump her!

Ask Jeeves Kids
The popular "Ask Jeeves" web site has created their own "kid" version of the powerful search engine. Not quite as friendly as Yahooligans, "Ask Jeeves Kids" does provide an impressive list of study tools and news resources. This site was selected as Learning Magazine's Teachers' Choice Award in 2002.

Cyber-Sleuth
A great resource for students, Cyber-Sleuth has simple easy to read categories and a lesson plan database for teachers. It also has free clip art to use in the classroom and easy to navigate categories for students to better find the information they need.

Kids Click
Kids Click is a great search engine with lots of categories. Over 600 subjects means they've done a lot of the searching for you already. This search engine was made by librarians, so it's set up with the dewey decimal system if you want to find any of the information in a book later.

Yahooligans
The self proclaimed "Web Guide for Kids," Yahooligans is one of the most child friendly sites on the internet. With an extensive directory of topics for learning including book clubs, recent headlines, as well as parents' and teachers' pages Yahooligans always has something for everyone. Their search engine has never failed to deliver appropriate and useful information.

Google (Won't work at school)
The most popular search engine on the web, Google can find just about anything you're looking for. Based on the popularity of sites, not necessarily how much they pay to be ranked, Google will usually turn up more pertinent information and more hits than other web browsers. Google should be used by advanced web users only!
